Overview

The global space economy is projected to grow from about $400 billion today to more than $1 trillion by 2040. Advances in space technology are enabling more ambitious missions in space, but they also introduce new risks seeking insurance solutions to cover these evolving technological risks.

 

Gallagher’s Aerospace Division provides risk management and insurance solutions to space industry leaders. We work with established companies, governments, and new market entrants to unlock opportunities in space. We are seeking a Global Space Practice Account Executive accountable for producing, servicing, and retaining Aerospace industry space clients and driving overall client strategy to meet/exceed client expectations and growth goals.

 

  • Location: United States - Remote, with preference for proximity near aerospace industry centers such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Denver, Houston, Washington DC, or Florida
  • Compensation:  Annual Base Salary Range $89,500 to $174,500 plus Performance-Based Discretionary Annual Bonus

 


How you'll make an impact

Essential Functions

  • Be Gallagher’s US focal point for niche Space industry clients and prospects regarding specialized property and casualty risks involved with companies that build, launch, and operate property in space
  • Develop and maintain Gallagher’s Aerospace industry presence in the US and create new business opportunities. Work with the Global Space team to maintain our space prospect list and future business opportunity pipeline. Successfully build and manage a book of business with US Aerospace industry clients typically greater than $500,000 in annual revenue.
  • Analyze and quantify client and prospect space risks, review spacecraft and launch contracts risk and insurance provisions, and determine the technical risk profile and financial exposures at risk.
  • Craft risk management and insurance solutions for space projects lifecycle, prelaunch, launch, and in-space operations and develop bespoke insurance policies tailored to client’s space risk profile and place coverage in international space insurance market.
  • Serve as Client Executive for all assigned Aerospace clients and manage complex insurance program development and execution, activity planning and people skills. Coordinates company personnel (non-aerospace specialists and local leadership) to meet/exceed objectives, client retention, and growth expectations for assigned clients.
  • Learn and adopt Gallagher’s operational service standards and embrace and adhere to the Gallagher Way of business conduct.

About You

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum 5-7 years related experience - - OR - - High School Diploma/GED and 7-10 years related experience required. 10-15 years of related experience preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the space industry and/or experience with aerospace or other specialty insurance clients and coverages.
  • Ability to obtain necessary insurance licenses required. Professional designations such as Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) or Associate in Risk Management (ARM) preferred. PMP certification a plus.
  • U.S. person under Gallagher’s export control compliance protocols and procedures
  • Willingness to travel (mostly domestic, some international), including participation in industry events, conferences, and networking activities to establish and cultivate client relationships.
