How you'll make an impact
- Leverage advanced claims expertise to manage high-severity and complex Inland Marine Cargo claims, ensuring effective resolution strategies are implemented.
- Provide strategic oversight and guidance throughout the life of each cargo claim, including those involving international transit, multimodal transport, or high-value goods.
- Engage and communicate with internal and external stakeholders—clients, carriers, freight forwarders, legal counsel, and vendors—to coordinate efficient claims management and recovery opportunities.
- Deliver outstanding customer service with a high level of empathy and professionalism, particularly in time-sensitive or logistically complex claim scenarios.
- Maintain full compliance with client-specific guidelines and corporate standards, applying sound judgment and ethical practices in every claim.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of claim activity, supporting transparency, subrogation, and efficient claims progression.
About You
Potential candidates should have the following:
• Claims Background: Extensive experience handling Inland Marine Cargo claims, including cargo loss, damage in transit, theft, and delay.
• Jurisdictional Experience: United States
• Active Adjusters' licenses: Required
As a key member of our Specialty Claims team, you will:
- Investigate, evaluate, and resolve complex Inland Marine Cargo claims using your specialized knowledge of shipping logistics, international trade, and transportation liability.
- Partner closely with clients to deliver proactive claims solutions, advise on best practices, and reduce exposure through thorough analysis and mitigation strategies.
- Lead with initiative, think strategically, and take ownership of challenging cargo claims while balancing technical rigor with empathy and client service.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• High School Diploma.
• Minimum of 7 years related claims experience, with at least 3 years focused on Inland Marine or Cargo claims.
• Appropriate licensing and/or certification in all states in which claims are being handled.
• Deep knowledge of transportation industry standards, applicable laws (e.g., Carmack Amendment, COGSA), and best practices in cargo claims.
• Computer experience with related claims and business software.
DESIRED:
• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Certifications related to cargo or marine claims (e.g., AIM, AMIM, or similar).
