Overview
Reporting directly to the SVP, Head of Risk & Compliance, the Account On boarding & Compliance Lead will play a crucial role in facilitating a smooth and efficient onboarding process for new Bermuda based clients/investors. In addition, support internal compliance for Artex Corporate Services (Bermuda) Ltd. and understand corporate services administration regulations. This role will act as a key point of contact for Compliance-related matters in Bermuda and Cayman, for Corporate Services. The incumbent will have a good understanding of AML/ATF and sanctions regarding on-boarding and Know Your Customer (KYC) principles, exceptional organizational skills, good communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. This role requires exceptional communication and relationship management skills along with strong client centricity. As such, it will require subject matter knowledge for key compliance and on boarding activities.
How you'll make an impact
- Coordinate the end-to-end on boarding experience for new clients and or investors, through the company’s onboarding platform and where applicable, inputting client details and facilitating client/investor onboarding journeys, ensuring documentation collection, verification, and approvals with the AML Compliance team.
- Review and vet new business applications to ensure adherence to policies and procedures and make recommendations on CDD, including Enhanced Due Diligence requirements.
- Track the on boarding status of new engagements and communicate to internal and external clients/Teams where appropriate.
- Ability to de-escalate customer support requests and maintain a positive, goal-driven customer relationship, which includes responding to clients in a timely and helpful manner
- Compile, populate and circulate relevant risk and compliance on boarding documents for review by the Client On boarding Committee
- Review, update and apply relevant on boarding policies and procedures
- Supporting Corporate Service to adhere to regulatory requirements and internal policies with the ability to work cross-functionally including reporting directly to clients where necessary. Partner with stakeholders to encourage adherence to compliance policies, procedures, and controls.
- Support governance and monitoring and assist in the implementation of compliance programs to Corporate Services.
- Assist in various ad-hoc risk & compliance initiatives as required to improve the efficiency and productivity of the business.
- Assist with regulatory filings and in maintaining AML/ATF and Sanctions compliance policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory requirements for the corporate service provider company.
- Assist the SVP, Head of Compliance and Risk in liaising with the Bermuda Monetary Authority on regulatory matters including BMA thematic and ad-hoc reviews and on-site examinations.
About you
- Undergraduate degree in Business or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role
- A Compliance designation is required e.g. CAMS, ICA or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience in using compliance onboarding and or related compliance software applications, working knowledge of tools for data management and proficiency in the use of open-source information tools.
- Prior experience with anti-money laundering, anti-terrorist financing and customer due diligence procedures across a variety of entity types e.g. Private Companies, Quoted/Listed Companies, Funds, Partnerships, Trusts.
- Corporate Administration experience would be a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of discretion and confidentiality of customer information.
- Must be a team player with a collaborative approach to problem solving and willing to assist other team members as and when needed.
- Strong time management skills, flexible, and able to meet tight deadline.
- Strong understanding of local and international AML and KYC principles and regulations.
- Demonstrated ability of working in a deadline-oriented environment with multiple priorities.
- Prior experience in a client interfacing and customer service role.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build connections and work collaboratively.
- Analytical mindset and ability to identify potential risks and issues.
